# <The FVL Huddle>

## Description

The FVL Huddle is a Web Application (App) available as a native, iOS, and Mobile app for the Students, Parents, Teachers, and Administrators of Fox Valley Lutheran School. Liliana VendeWalle and Lauren Wilson created it as a project that stemmed from a Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) competition in early 2023.

During the project’s research phase, we learned most Application Programs utilized in schools today include redundancies, causing their managers more work than necessary. Additionally, most commercially available Apps for Schools do not follow the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

The FVL Huddle eliminates redundancies and follows FERPA guidelines, all while incorporating Push Notifications to select groups of users, All Students, Students by Grade, Teachers, Parents, Administrators, and more.

The goal is to make the App commercially available to school districts nationwide.

## Installation

• Built the project in WordPress, a PHP program
• Used Canva to create required images
• Added a plugin called WPMobile.App to transform the WordPress Content Management System into an Android App and iOS App. This App created the APK file for Android and the Xcode for iOS.
• Created iOS developer account to upload the App and place it on the Apple Store for Apple Users.
• Created a Google Play Developer Account for Android Users.

## Usage

The App uses WordPress as a hub pulling in data from the school website, social media RSS FEEDS, and other third party applications used by the school for communications purposes. From the App the user can create unique posts. Create Push Communication Alerts and more using the WordPress CRM.
